Why PDF Tools Matter

PDFs are the universal document format — used for contracts, reports, presentations, and more. But editing them usually requires expensive software. Free2Box gives you the essential PDF operations right in your browser, completely free.

All PDF processing happens locally in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server.

Merge Multiple PDFs

Combining multiple PDF files into one is one of the most common tasks. Here's how:

  1. Open the PDF Tools page
  2. Select Merge PDFs mode
  3. Drag and drop your files (or click to browse)
  4. Reorder files by dragging them in the list
  5. Click Merge and download your combined PDF

Split a PDF

Need to extract specific pages? The split feature lets you:

  • Extract a range — e.g., pages 3–7
  • Extract individual pages — pick exactly the pages you need
  • Split into chunks — divide a large PDF into smaller files

Convert Images to PDF

You can also convert images (PNG, JPG, WebP) into a PDF document:

  1. Select Image to PDF mode
  2. Upload your images
  3. Arrange the page order
  4. Choose page size (A4, Letter, etc.)
  5. Click Convert to generate your PDF

For best results, use high-resolution images. The tool automatically fits images to the selected page size while maintaining aspect ratio.

Convert PDF to Images

Going the other direction? Convert each PDF page into a high-quality PNG image:

  1. Select PDF to Image mode
  2. Upload your PDF
  3. Choose the output resolution (1x, 2x, or 3x)
  4. Download individual pages or all at once

What About File Size?

Since everything runs in your browser using WebAssembly, there are some practical limits:

  • Recommended: Files under 50 MB for smooth performance
  • Maximum: Depends on your device's available memory
  • Tip: For very large files, split them into smaller batches first
